Since earning his law degree at Boston College Law School in 2001, David spent time as associate counsel to the Senate Committee on Ways and Means where he wrote legislation on corporate responsibility and employment law legislation. He served the Justices of the Superior Court as a law clerk. Then as Special Counsel to the Senate Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets, he drafted legislation on property and real estate transfers, on consumer protection and witness protection, as well as having oversight of the commonwealth's capital financing and bonding. He is currently the legislative counsel to the New Bedford City Council. Prior to earning a law degree, David gained valuable insight to the law and how it could help people as a New Bedford City Councillor for 8 years including a year as City Council President. He was the Council's Finance Committee chairman. While attending Boston College Law School, David worked for Attorney General Tom Reilly and the law firm of Kopelman and Paige in Boston. David has experience helping business from his years working for a Chamber of Commerce. He brings experience in the insurance industry from his work in the actuarial department for an auto insurance company. He also has experience in the health care field. In addition to his law degree, David also has earned a bachelor's degree in economics from UMass Dartmouth. Attorney David J.
